This project in 2014 – 2015 for the New Zealand Defence Force entailed Civil Works for enabling new Ammunition Igloos being built at an NZDF Base. Stage 1 involved earthworks and 380 m of 7m wide access road completed in just 3 weeks. Stage 2 involved igloo filling, concrete paving slabs and completion of the service road.

• Works involved excavation and cartage of some 17,000m3 of soil to stockpile sites. The key to the project success was to provide the Project appropriate, correct size gear in order to allow the building construction to start on the critical path timeline. The works required a flexible and close relationship with the client as it was within the restricted zone of a working Military base.
• We delivered some 30m of new storm water drainage, 8 new pits and chambers subsoil upgrades and over 300m of services ducts for power and security.
• MAP undertook 100% of the set out and aggregate formation of the road works. Pavement construction (100% MAP) involved 2600m2 of GAP 65 and 40 aggregate, Benkelman beam testing, Asphalt pavement (Higgings – sub contractor), 780m of standard and nib kerbing (Hayes Concrete – Sub Contractor) and 250m2 of reinforced concrete road pavement (100% MAP). Pavement construction was undertaken with our own plant which included a 12t Vibrating roller and grader
